Keep it Simple: Lower Your Blood Pressure, Feel Better, Live More!

Add caption

Lower you blood pressure and improve your life.   Walk, breath and reduce your salt intake

Sometimes the simple things are the most cost effective and useful.  Take a walk, breath deep and thinking good thoughts are all free and can have a powerful impact on your life.I know it sounds too good to be true, but I challenge you to try this simple theory and see what happens.  High blood pressure or not, what do you really have to loose?

First of all, DO NOT STOP ANY MEDICATIONS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS APPROVAL.  I had to say that, and you know why! But it's true and I want you to PARTNER  with your doctor.  If you don't think this is possible, than perhaps you need to reconsider your choice of physician.  Otherwise, please speak to him or her and tell them you want to try some new things that may help control and reduce your blood pressure without medications or with less medications.  Remember, I am not a doctor and do not pretend to be one.
So here are the simple steps you can take to make some changes in your life naturally.
1. Reduce your salt intake by eating out less  and cooking your own food.  OMG, yes, you have to do a little  cooking.  Here is the thing, you may not realize how much salt is in food that you eat in restaurants. You need to be on a restaurant fast for three weeks to retrain your taste buds.  Also, when you are cooking at home I want you to throw out your old mortons salt and go out and buy some good sea salt.  Sea salt is packed with all the minerals that are stripped out of the iodized salt.  Celtic salt or Pink Himalayan are my two favorites.
2. Walk every day.  Seriously, this will make a huge difference in your blood pressure and your life.
Start slow if you like, ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes after dinner, and then increase so you are walking at least 30 minutes a day.
Try these two things and see what happens.  You are definitely worth it.
Check back next week for some more things to add to your routine.
