Could that be spring around the corner? I see the sun, I hear the wind and the snow is almost gone.
It is the time when we realize winter is mostly behind us and the shoots of spring will be appearing in our gardens soon. The birds are returning from the south and we will have days when we open our windows to let in the fresh air and let out the stale air from inside.
Perhaps this is a good time to do the same with our hearts. Open up our hearts and let in the love from those around us and give up the things we harbor that do not serve us any more.
While we think about spring cleaning, the closet, the garage and the basement, why not clean out the heart? Opening our hearts sounds funny, but think about the possibilities
Spring will be the time to eat greens and sprouts, to detox from the heavier winter foods. Spring is also the time when we will step up the exercise programs we do less of in winter. These are two things that are good for the physical heart.
But what about the spiritual heart? Can we change that? Open it up, clean it out? If we open our hearts we will naturally open our minds, we can release the things we hold on to that do not serve us anymore and make room for new and wonderful things. A good way to do this is to try some simple meditations.
There are many books and CD's available on this subject, try one and see what you think.
Spring time is great for new beginnings. Why not start something new and hopeful for yourself.
You deserve it.
At my school, The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Joshua always says, "Life is a long time."
So make your days count. I say, "Don't dream your life, Live your Dream."
Do something bold and different, try something new and exciting, take a chance.
If your intentions are pure and loving, you will be rewarded.
Add some good food to your diet and MOVE, in some way that feels good to you.
Try some simple meditations to open you heart and your mind and enjoy the spring,
or the anticipation of spring. It is time to dig out of the snow and whatever else is
bogging us down!
Namaste.
